NWGC

One of our Founding Mothers, Andrea Allen, recently passed away and we would like to express our sympathy to her family.

Former Leadership Council members recall her as a dynamo in starting the NWGC, sharing her wit, passion, her sense of lightness and humor in the early days as they held several meetings in the rotunda at the Rep where Andrea worked.

We can't thank her enough for all she contributed to help the coalition in its early days.  Her passion for teens and girls was especially evident in one of her favorite projects that she initiated, GirlSpeak. "It was aimed at young girls, kids in alternative, at-risk school settings, dropouts and teenage mothers," Smucker said. "Andrea took their stories and helped them turn them into theater pieces."  You can read more here:  http://seattletimes.com/html/obituaries/2019864284_allenobit09m.html

Thank you Andrea - rest in peace...
